January

My parents came to visit us for a week just after Christmas. We celebrated Christmas with them and just spent time with them while they were here. Saryn wasn't so sure about them spending the night with us at first but that passed quickly. She would wake up every morning and ask, "Where Granny & Papa go?" When I told her downstairs she'd say, "Let's go see them!" We all enjoyed having them here and can't wait for them to come again in June! ;)

You can click here for pictures of our visit with Granny & Papa.

The rest of January has been pretty busy. Jordan is in full swing with his new position at his job and Saryn & I are trying to get by without him during the week. We certainly enjoy it when he comes home!

Saryn is a busy little two year old. She has play dates with her friends, exercise classes, and starting in February she'll start a little ballet/dance class. She's developing quite the imagination and vocabulary. We all have to watch what we say in front of Saryn because she repeats everything. Granny taught her the word "butt" while they were here (on accident) and I taught her the word "junk" last week. Not awful words but we prefer tushy to butt and listening to her tell people "look at all this junk" isn't the nicest thing a 2 year old girl could say. So, we are trying to be more careful with our words. ;)

We turned Saryn's crib into a toddler bed a few weeks ago. She was fine sleeping in her crib but with my growing belly it was getting harder for me to put her in.

I thought she'd get out of bed throughout the night and be running around the house giving us a hard time.

But she's been perfect! She stays in bed when we put her in - hasn't once gotten out of bed. If she does wake up in the middle of the night she calls for us while sitting in her bed! She won't come out to find us - she waits for us to come to her!

We did get her a bed rail because she was falling out of bed a few times a night. We put the pillows next to her bed to soften the fall but she still really needed the rail to keep her in. She loves her big girl bed now. She likes to get in her bed and play with her stuffed animals during the day. So far she's done great and we didn't even have to put a gate up! For the first time in a while our house is 100% gate free! Well, until the new baby comes and starts crawling anyway. ;)

Have a good week!
