Christmas 2011

(Who knew how hard it would be to get a nice family photo with a 4 year old and a 19 month old?)

We spent Christmas in NC this year. It was a laid back Christmas but somehow very busy too. We didn't leave the house at all on Christmas Day since we are living with my in-laws. The day after Christmas we didn't leave the house either since the Elting family came to us that evening. :)

(Rowyn is not interested in taking photos right now)

The girls truly enjoyed Christmas this year. Saryn woke up at 6:00 in the morning and was so excited to go downstairs to see if Santa came and what he brought. She was so excited I swear she was about to burst. We had her lay in the bed with us since Rowyn wasn't awake yet until about 6:30. Jordan got in the shower and at about 6:45 I told her we could go in and wake Rowyn up.

(Not interested at all.)

They were both so excited to see what Santa brought them. In our house Santa leaves one present, unwrapped, ready to play with by the fireplace. He left Saryn a Rapunzel doll that the hair glows when you brush it. He left Rowyn a Melissa and Doug pizza play food toy.

After they saw their gifts from Santa we went upstairs to the third floor, where our tree is, and they opened presents from my parents and my grandmother. We had a tray of hummus and fruit and Jordan and I drank our coffee up there. The girls opened their things and played with them nicely until about 9:00. Then we went downstairs to have Christmas with Nani & Bumba.

(Saryn took this picture. Not too bad!)

We pretty much took all day to open packages. The girls would open something and want to play with it for 30 minutes. We were not on a time crunch at all so we just let them go at their own pace.

Hope you all had a great Christmas with friends and family this year!
