Camping

We went camping with the girls for the first time a few weeks ago.  Saryn had been asking to go camping for a few years.  We made an attempt last Fall but the tent we had was covered in mildew.  I bought Saryn and Jordan a tent for Christmas so we were ready to go this year!

We decided to only go for one night since they've never been before.  We went to Lake Jordan and this is what the back of the truck looked like for one night of camping!  Phew, that's a lot of stuff!

The girls waiting in the car for mommy and daddy to get everything together.

They sat in the car for at least an hour just playing and waiting.  I think they were just a little excited.

Our campsite was phenomenal!  I couldn't tell when we booked the site that we would be able to walk down to the lake from the campsite.  So sweet!

The girls trying to help Jordan set up the tent.

 Working hard!

Our campsite!  We brought the girls their little tent so they had one to play in and to put their toys.

Of course their little camping chairs too.

The girls had a great time.  Saryn told me that when she has children she is bringing them here and letting them stay for 3 nights.  I think that was her way of saying one night wasn't enough.  :)

What do you do with children who wake up at 6:30 when the sun comes up?  Take them down to the lake to paint rocks!  So glad I brought their watercolor paints and some brushes.  They had a blast and it kept them quiet so they wouldn't wake other campers.  Definitely bringing those again.

Eating our food cooked over the open fire was fun and delicious!

They loved being able to swim in the lake too.  Hopefully they still like camping in the Fall when it's too cold to swim.  We all had such a great time as a family we are going again next weekend!  We'll go for two nights this time.  :)
